Cookie Policy
PYNGO LTD
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how PYNGO LTD ("Pyngo", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website at https://pyngo.co (the "Website") and our mobile application (the "App").
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Notice, which explains how we process personal data more broadly.
This policy should also be read alongside applicable UK rules on storing or accessing information on your device, including the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR transparency requirements. Where we rely on your consent for any optional analytics, you can withdraw or change your choice through our cookie preferences, subject to strictly necessary cookies that are required for the Service to function.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better user experience, and to provide information to the owners of the website.
Similar technologies include pixels, web beacons, local storage, and device identifiers, which serve comparable purposes. References to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies.
3. How We Use Cookies
3.1 Strictly Necessary Cookies
These cookies are essential for the Website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or completing forms.
Without these cookies, the Website and Service cannot operate properly.
| Cookie Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Pyngo (session) | Maintains your logged-in session and ensures secure access to your account | Session / up to 30 days |
| Stripe | Enables secure payment processing and fraud prevention when you subscribe or manage your payment method | Session / as required by Stripe |
| Supabase (auth) | Manages authentication tokens for your account | Session / as required |
3.2 Analytics and Similar Technologies (Your Choice)
We use PostHog (EU region) only after you make a choice in our cookie preferences. PostHog may use cookies and local storage to operate its client library on the Website.
We offer two settings:
Essential service cookies (analytics subset). If you select this option, we enable a strictly limited set of explicit, allowlisted analytics events needed to operate signup, payments, onboarding milestones, and support diagnostics. We configure PostHog so that it does not record session replays, does not use automatic capture of all clicks, and does not automatically track every page view as a browsing history for analytics in the way typical web analytics products do.
Accept all (additional product insights). If you select this option, this includes the same essential analytics events described above, plus additional explicit product analytics events to help us understand onboarding and product usage (for example additional funnel-related events). This option still does not enable session replays in our default Website configuration.
We also store your preference in your browser (for example in local storage) so we can respect your choice.
Where any PostHog technology is not strictly necessary to provide a service you request, we rely on your consent obtained through the cookie preferences banner, as described in Section 4.
| Cookie Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| PostHog (EU region) | Event-based analytics as described in this subsection (Section 3.2), only after your choice | See PostHog's policy |
3.3 Cookies We Do Not Use
For clarity, we do not use:
- Advertising or targeting cookies. We do not serve ads and we do not track you for advertising purposes.
- Social media tracking cookies. We do not embed social media trackers on the Website.
- Third-party profiling cookies. We do not allow third parties to use cookies on our Website for behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking.
4. Your Choices
4.1 Cookie Preferences Banner
When you first visit the Website, you will see a cookie preferences banner that allows you to choose between essential service cookies (including the essential analytics subset described in Section 3.2) or to accept all (including additional product insights). Strictly necessary cookies cannot be declined where the Website cannot function without them.
4.2 Changing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link available in the footer of every page on the Website.
4.3 Browser Settings
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse all cookies, to alert you when a cookie is being set, or to delete cookies that have already been placed. Please note that if you disable strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Website may not function correctly.
Instructions for managing cookies in common browsers:
Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
4.4 Mobile App
The mobile application does not use browser cookies. It uses a device push notification token (an APNs token on iOS, an FCM token on Android) to deliver alerts to your device. This token is a technical identifier and does not track your browsing activity. The mobile application presents an in-app analytics consent screen at first sign-in offering the same two options described in Section 3.2 of this policy: essential service analytics or accept all. Your choice is stored on the device and is honoured for all subsequent sessions on that device. You can change your choice at any time from the Privacy section of the in-app account screen.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Where third-party providers set cookies through our Website (as described in Section 3), those providers' own privacy and cookie policies apply to their cookies. We have listed the relevant providers and linked to their policies below:
Stripe: https://stripe.com/cookies-policy/legal
PostHog: https://posthog.com/privacy
6. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legislation, or our practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Website.
